This week’s super teacher is Karin cook, who’s taught language arts at JP Taravella High School in Coral Springs for 15 years. Today’s lesson plan: the count of Monte Cristo, and she's making the book come to life.
It's her lesson plans that make Ms Cook Taravella’s current teacher of the year. An award her principal says is well earned!
Ms Cook doesn’t just teach language arts, she’s the school's department chair, overseeing 23 teachers. She also mentors her students outside the classroom and received the Nobel prize educator of distinction award ... and, in her free time, she runs marathons to raise awareness for Duchenne (Do-shen) muscular distrophy and she's about to get a black belt in karate. ... busy lady, but she loves what she does.
So give it up for Karin Cook from Taravella high school in Coral Springs ... a black belt in education and our teacher of the week!
