Massachusetts native, Sara liss has been a food writer in Miami for about 15 years. She's covered restaurants and chefs from all different cultures and different culinary backgrounds.
Liss began to write a cookbook in honor of Miami's eclectic culinary scene.
“I’ve always had a love for Miami restaurants, it’s just something I would do, even if I hadn’t actually developed a food writing career. I’ve always followed chefs and restaurants and see what’s new and cool and what’s happening. And I’ve always wanted to pay tribute to Miami because it is my new adopted city. And to me, this was the best way to write a love letter to the city, which is highlighting the chefs and restaurants that I love so much and sharing them with everyone,” Sara Liss, Author, “Miami Cooks”.
The book includes recipes from chefs with beloved restaurants in the city.
“We wanted to have a nice group that are young, up and coming chefs and also more established chefs and we have a few celebrity chefs. These are chefs that have restaurants in here in Miami and love Miami. And then we have a lot of up and comers who have developed their own restaurant empires. We’ve got a mix of neighborhood spots and we got upscale, flashier spots and places where people love to go to on special occasions. But, we just wanted to have a mix of Miami that would give everyone a feeling and flavor of the Miami restaurant scene,” stared the author.
