We’re at the height of manatee season – and in celebration of Manatee Lagoon’s fifth anniversary, the environmental education center is hosting a virtual ManateeFest event for families to attend right from home.
This year’s virtual event will feature five days of virtual fun for all ages, beginning Monday, February 1st and running through Friday, February 5th.
The online event will include a manatee art contest for children, daily educational videos, a virtual photo booth, and trivia games to win fun prizes.
Participants can also shop the event’s virtual storefront, featuring environmental and marine-themed vendors from all over Florida.
Brittany Diloreto, Manatee Lagoon spokesperson, said, “while this year’s manateefest event may look a little different, we’re thrilled to be able to bring all the fun of ManateeFest right to people’s homes. The goal of this event is to not only provide families a safe, fun way to interact with us right from home, but we also hope our virtual storefront will help support participating businesses during these challenging times, many who have exhibited at our event since the very first year. We’re very excited and hope people tune in!”
