"Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" is the final chapter of the Skywalker saga.
Following the events from 2017’s "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," the surviving Resistance faces The First Order one last time.
As we follow this last epic journey with familiar faces we know and love, along the way we get introduced to new ones as well. We meet "Jannah" who is played by Naomi Ackie.
"It feels great to play a part in this and to be a part of the ensemble. I'm very grateful," said Naomi.
With starring characters played by Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran, the force is female and Naomi is at the forefront.
"I think we're getting to a point where there's becoming a really nice balance. The young are getting used to the idea of seeing a women kick butt and not necessarily always asking 'what do we do?'. We're getting a good balance now. This is my first big film and I hope that in the future to be part of more films like that and shows like that, and to encourage more people to enter these faces and these stories to be told in a more inclusive way," said Naomi.
This is Naomi's first major film, and for it to be Star Wars, there was a never a dull day on set.
"Me and John [Boyega] got silly. There's moments that's probably not even on set where I just hang out in his trailer. There was one day where we were just dancing in his trailer to music that was probably too loud but we got away with it because he's John. Just vibing and getting to know each other, that felt like there was a real familiarity there with Daisy [Ridley], Kelly [Marie Tran] and Oscar [Issac], it was just such a welcoming space," said Naomi.
