A South Florida hotel is looking to hire 20 employees.
“We’re looking for candidates that are ready to give us a helping hand wherever needed,” said operating partner of the Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel, Sandy Harrigan.
Sandy said they’re in need of housekeepers.
“Our main goal is to provide great service and also providing great food,” said Sandy.
The restaurant located inside the hotel, Crisp Eatery and Bar, is also looking to hire.
Executive chef, Jose Metellus, says the combination of the coronavirus pandemic and the tourist season has created a demand for more restaurant workers.
“We need about two cooks, a dishwasher and we need as many servers as we can. We also need bartenders,” said Jose.
Jose said there are 10 positions available. The main requirements include one year of experience and a willingness to work.
“We’re looking for [candidates] that’s a team player. Not only doing one job and [not willing] to learn. As long as their willing to learn and with a great attitude, that’s what we’re looking for,” said Jose.
“We want everyone to be hands on, we’re a team,” added Sandy.
Both Sandy and Jose say they are following social distancing guidelines inside the hotel and restaurant.
The Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel is located just off I-95 at 4900 Powerline Road.
