It is back to business at Lincoln Road Mall this week as the popular cafes and restaurants reopened on Wednesday for the first time under new COVID-19 guidelines.
Crews are constantly cleaning all surfaces and there are social-distancing signs everywhere as people once again parade down this iconic outdoor mall that now features handwashing stations. Lincoln Road Mall also has ambassadors working day and night, not only cleaning, but handing out free facial masks. And starting next week they will be handing out stylish masks designed by a local artist, Jayda Knight, with the Lincoln Road Mall logo on them.
Timothy Schmand, executive director of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District, spoke with me about the safety aspects of the reopening process. Mr. Schmand also talked about the history of Lincoln Road Mall and how it has helped South Florida through the toughest of times.

Just like at Lincoln Road Mall, restaurants in Coconut Grove and Downtown Miami also reopened this week with both popular areas prioritizing safety and cleanliness as part of their new norm.
